The Bare-throated Tiger-Heron (Tigrisoma mexicanum) occurs from northeast Mexico southward all the way to Columbia. This bird gets its common name from the naked throat. The species favors fresh water marshes, swamps, and mangroves, especially those areas with woodland borders. The shots on this page were taken in December, 2004, in southern Tamaulipas, Mexico. These shots were digital photos with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and 600 mm F/4 L IS lens.
