The Black-capped Flycatcher (Empidonax atriceps) is similar in appearance to the other members of the genus Empidonax more familiar to U.S. observers. This species ranges from Costa Rica to Panama and can often be found in the upper canopy of mountain forests. This individual was photographed in October, 1995, at Chacons, 15 km SSE of Tres de Junio, Provincia de San Jose, Costa Rica. A Canon T-90 and FD 400mm F4.5 lens from a BushHawk shoulder mount with a Fresnel flash and Fuji Sensia 100 film was used.
