| The Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) is a permanent resident across the northern two-thirds of the United States as well as most of Canada. It is a familiar feeder and garden bird to many backyard birdwatchers. It's lively activities and habits make it a special favorite. The Black-capped Chickadees in the top five images shown here were photographed near Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in November, 1998, with a Canon EOS 1N and EF 300mm F/2.8 L lens and 2X extender on Fuji Sensia film. |  |
