The Black-tailed Skimmer (Nesciothemis farinosa) occurs in central and southern Africa. The four shots of males shown here were taken in January, 2006, in South Africa, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash. The top two shots of the males were taken along the Olifantspruit River near Nylstroom, Limpopo Province. The next shot was near Vaalwater, also in Limpopo. The fourth shot was taken along the Dorps River near Lyndenburg, Mpumalanga Province.
