The Blue-tipped Dancer (Argia tibialis) is a widespread eastern damselfly that occupies a wide range of habitats from swamps and bayous to flowing streams and rivers. The photos here were shot along a stream in San Jacinto Co., Texas in June 2003. The images were digital captures with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 70-200 mm F2.8 L IS lens with a 2X extender and a 550 flash.


 

 


The teneral female Blue-tipped Dancer on the left was in San Jacinto Co., Texas, in March, 2008.

The next 3 images on this page of 2 males and one female Blue-tipped Dancer were taken in Bastrop Co., Texas, in May, 2008, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and flash.
