The Checkered White (Pontia protodice) is a widespread and common butterfly across Mexico, the United States and parts of Canada. The individual in the top 6 images on the left was in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in March, 2008. These images were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and an EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
