The Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia) occurs across a wide area of the United States and Mexico. The Common Buckeye on the left was resting on the rocks of a dry stream bed near the Nueces River in Real Co., Texas, in May, 2003. The image was taken with a Canon EOS 10D and an EF 70-200 F/2.8 L IS lens and 2X extender.
The Common Buckeye on the left was near Pearsall, Frio Co., Texas, in November, 2007. This shot was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
