The Common Threadtail (Elattoneura glauca) ranges from central and west Africa into South Africa. Its preferred habitat includes the grassy edges of flowing streams. The shot here of a male was taken along a stream in the Blyde River Canyon, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. The shot was taken in January, 2006, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender with a 580 flash.
