The Desert Forktail (Ischnura barberi) is a widespread but often local damselfly of the southwest. In Texas this species occurs in the Trans-Pecos area and in other isolated areas of west Texas. The digital shots shown on this page were taken along the edge of the Colorado River near Colorado City in Mitchell Co., Texas in August 2004 with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and an EF 180 Macro F/3.5 lens and 1.4X extender.
