The Eastern Forktail (Ischnura verticalis) is a widespread damselfly across most of the eastern three fourths of the U.S. It may be found in a wide variety of habitats from ponds to lakes to marshes, etc. The shot of the male was taken in Kohler-Andre State Park, Sheboygan Co., Wisconsin. The two shots of females were taken in Sugarcreek, Tuscarawas Co., Ohio. All shots were taken in August 2003 and were digital captures with a Canon EOS 10D and 180 mm Macro and ring flash.
