The Emerald-spotted Wood-Dove (Turtur chalcospilos) is a resident of woodland and savanna in parts of Africa. The species is called "Green-spotted Dove" in some references. The individual shown here was a Shakawe on the Okavango River, Botswana, in October, 1998. The image was taken with a Canon EOS 1N and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender on Fuji Sensia film.
