The Emerald Spreadwing (Lestes dryas) is a widespread damselfly across the northern two-thirds of the United States as well as much of Canada. The male (top two images) and female (bottom image) shown here were digitally photographed in July, 2005, near White Lake, Lanark Co., Ontario, Canada, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens with a 2X extender and 580 EX flash.
