The Fatal Metalmark (Calephelis nemesis) is widespread and common across much of the American southwest and Mexico. The top 3 images here were shot with a Canon EOS 10D and an EF 180mm F/3.5 Macro in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in July, 2003.
The Fatal Metalmarks in the next two shots on the left were photographed near Pearsall, Frio Co., Texas, in November, 2007. These images were shot with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
