The Fawn-spotted Skipper (Cymaenes trebius) is a rare stray to deep south Texas. In May, 2007, I was photographing birds at Audubon's Sabal Palm Sanctuary near Brownsville in Cameron Co., Texas, when I came across a number of Fawn-spotted Skippers feeding on some flower blooms. Since I was set up for bird photography all I had was a long lens, so these shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender with a flash.
