The Flightless Cormorant
(Phalacrocorax harrisi) is another species
endemic to the Galapagos Islands. The shot on this page is a
digital capture taken in July 2003 on Fernandina Island with
a Canon EOS 10D and an EF 70-200 mm F/2.8 L IS lens. In the photo
a chick is begging food from its parent. Note the extremely short
and stubby wings of the adult. Unfortunately, the day I was there
was extremely dark and gray, so combine a gray bird with gray
rocks with a gray sky and there is not much to make a pleasing
photo.
