This is page two of Golden-cheeked Warbler (Dendroica chrysoparia) on the Greg Lasley Nature Photography web site. For page one, please click here.

The next 8 shots on this page were taken near Bee Cave, Travis Co., Texas, in May, 2008, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender. These 8 shots show a one year old male Golden-cheeked Warbler. Males 2 years old or more show an entirely black back, whereas this bird still has some green in the back which may be more easily seen in the last 3 of the top 8 images.

The young male Golden-cheeked Warbler in the next 2 shots has caught an Argia damselfly.

Finished with his damselfly breakfast...now ready to take on the world!
