The Golden-winged Dancer (Argia rhoadsi) is a distinctive Argia with its amber-colored wings and mostly dark abdomen. This species has only been found in south Texas and parts of northern Mexico. Within Texas it is only known from three counties as of late 2004. The shot of the single male and pair shown here were photographed at Fort Clark Springs, Kinney Co., Texas in September 2004 with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300 mm F/4 L IS lens with a 2X extender and 550 EX flash.

Below are several more shots (of females and a males) which were taken at the same location and with the same camera body as above but with an EF 180mm F/3.5 lens and 1.4X extender and 580EX flash. These shots were all taken in May, 2005.
