The Great Frigatebird (Fregata minor) nests on Tower Island in the Galapagos which is where the top 3 images on this page were taken. The top photo shows a male in breeding display with his inflatable pouch blown up. Below is a shot of another mail "deflated". Finally, a female is shown below. The digital photos shown here were taken in July 2003 with a Canon EOS 10D and an EF 70-200 mm F/2.8 L IS lens. Scroll down for more images from 2007.

 

 

 

 
 
   

 



On the left and below are 7 more images of female Great Frigatebirds frm the Galapagos. These shots were taken in July, 2007, on Seymour Island, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 100-400mm F/4.5-5.6 L IS lens. The bird in the first 3 shots on the left is at a nest with a downy chick.
