The Great Purple Hairstreak (Atlides halesus) occurs across the southern United States southward to Guatemala. The top 3 shots on the left were taken in March, 2004, in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS lens and 2X extender.

 

 

 

 

 


The shot on the left was taken in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in November, 2002, with a Canon EOS 1V and an EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L lens and 1.4X extender on Fuji 100 film.
