The Green Treefrog (Hyla cinerea) is a medium sized treefrog which reaches up to about two and a half inches in length. It inhabits all the southeastern United States in general, but ranges up the Atlantic coast to Maryland and Virginia, west to southern Illinois and Missouri, and southwest to central Texas and south into northeast Mexico. The frog on the left was photographed on a warm winter day in Freeport, Brazoria Co., Texas, in December, 2002, with a Canon EOS D60 and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and flash. The frog below was shot at Palmetto State Park, Gonzales Co., Texas, in June, 2003, with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L lens and 2X extender and flash.
