The Greenish Puffleg (Haplophaedia aureliae) occurs from the Darien region of Panama southward into the Andes of South America. The photo at left was taken in March, 1995, on Cerro Pirre, Darien, Panama. This is the northern-most location where this species is known to occur. The white material on the tip of the bill appeared to be spider webs. A Canon T-90 and FD 400mm F4.5 lens from a BushHawk shoulder mount with a Fresnel flash and Fuji Sensia 100 film was used. I was able to take about 20 shots of this bird, but all are pretty much identical to this one.
