The Hackberry Emperor (Asterocampa celtis) is a common and widespread butterfly on much of the United States and northern Mexico. The top 2 shots here were taken in May, 2003, in Austin, Travis Co., Texas. The 3rd shot was also in Austin, but in June, 2003. A Canon EOS 10D and EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS lens and 2X extender was used on these 3 shots.
