	The Hepatic Tanager (Piranga flava) breeds in the mountains of the American Southwest as well as much of montane Mexico. The shots of male and female shown here were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender in the Davis Mountains, Jeff Davis Co., Texas, in June, 2005.
