Kansas Sunset
On the late afternoon of a cold December day in 2005, I was driving across the Cimarron Grasslands of extreme western Kansas in Morton County, when my attention was drawn to the sunset in the west. High altitude winds were whipping up a jet contrail and creating an interesting pattern in the sky.
