Lark Sparrow (Chondestes grammacus) is widespread across the western three fouths of the United States. The bird at left was photographed in Kenedy Co., Texas in February, 2002, and the bird below was photographed at a nest site in a Prickley Pear Cactus, also in Kenedy Co., Texas, in June, 2002. Both shots were with a Canon EOS 3 and 600 mm F4 L IS lens on Fuji Velvia.


   

 

The Lark Sparrow on the left was at Concan, Uvalde Co., Texas, in April, 2007. This image was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
