The Laughing Gull (Larus atricilla) is a common and widespread coastal gull of the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of the United States as well as both coasts of Mexico. The basic (winter) plumaged bird on the left was at Surfside, Brazoria Co., Texas in September, 1999. The image was shot with a Canon EOS 1N and EF 300mm F/2.8 L lens and 2X extender on Fuji Sensia.

The basic plumaged Laughing Gull on the left was on the Lamar Peninsula, Aransas Co., Texas, in September, 2000. The photo was taken with a Canon EOS 3 and EF 500 mm F/4 L IS lens on Fuji Velvia.

The partial albino Laughing Gull in the next two images was on Mustang Island, Nueces Co., Texas, in August, 1996. These two shots were taken with a Canon T-90 and Sigma 500mm F/4.5 lens on Kodachrome 200 film.
