The entire world population of the Lava Gull (Larus fuliginosus) lives on the Galapagos Islands. There are thought to be only about 400 pairs of this species in existence. The birds here were photographed on Bachas Beach, Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos, in July, 2003, with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS lens.
