The Levaillant's Cisticola (Cisticola tinniens) is also known as Tinkling Cisticola by some authors. The species ranges from Angola and Kenya into South Africa. It is a locally common bird usually associated with marsh and wetland habitat. The bird shown here was along the edge of a small lake at Dullstroom, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa in January, 2006. These digital shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II & EF 300mm F/4L IS lens and 2X extender.
