The Long-tailed Skipper (Urbanus proteus) is widespread across much of the southern United States. The species ranges all the way south to South America. The top two shots on the left were taken at McKinney Falls State Park, Travis Co., Texas, in October, 2007, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
