The Long-tailed Weasel (Mustela frenata) is a widespread resident across almost all of the United States as well as much of Canada and Mexico. Despite its range, it can be hard to spot and is not often seen. The animal in the top two images on theleft was on the lower slopes of Mt. Evans, Arapaho National Forest, Clear Creek Co., Colorado, in June, 2007. These two shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
