The Lyre-tipped Spreadwing (Lestes unguiculatus) is found commonly across the northern U.S. and parts of Canada. The male and female shown in the two shots immediately below were in Houston Co., Minnesota in July, 2004. These images were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300 mm F/4 L IS lens with a 2X extender and 550 EX flash. Scroll down for additional shots.

The male and female below were shot with the same equipment described above at Little Lakes, Beachburg Rd., Renfrew Co., Ontario, Canada in July, 2005.



 


The young male Lyre-tipped Spreadwing in the next two images was along the Arikaree River in Yuma Co., Colorado, in June, 2007. These two shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
