The Marsh Rabbit (Sylvilagus palustris) is a rabbit of the southeastern corner of the United States. It lives in wet, swampy locations such as cattail marshes or brackish marshes. The one shown at the left was munching on grass on Sanibel Island, Lee Co., Florida in November, 2006. This shot was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender. Unfortunately, I just got this one image before a passing car flushed the animal back into the marsh.
