The Mimosa Yellow (Pyrisitia nise) is a very small yellow butterfly which ranges from South America northward to parts of Texas and the southwest. It is very similar to the more comon Little Yellow (P. lisa). The top shot on the left was taken near Pearsall, Frio Co., Texas, in November, 2007, and was shot with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
