The Namaqua Dove (Oena capensis) is a widespread African species ranging from the deserts of Ethiopia and Somalia to the grasslands of South Africa. The male shown here was in Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa, in January, 2006. This shot was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II & EF 500mm F/4L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
