The Boreal Whiteface (Leucorrhinia borealis) is a distinctly northern species, mainly confined to Canada and Alaska, but populations are also found in some Rocky Mountain areas Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and Montana. It is the largest whiteface species. The first five shots on this page were taken in July, 2011, in the Laramie Canyon area of the Roosevelt National Forest, Larimer Co., Colorado, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash. The first five shots are all males of various ages.
