| The Carolina Satyr (Hermeuptychia sosybius) is a common springtime butterfly of the forests of the southeastern United States. Sometimes these little butterflies may be extremely common as the flit along, just above the forest floor. The two shots of the Carolina Satyr here were taken in the Davy Crockett National Forest, Houston Co., Texas, in March, 2008, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender. | ![]() |
