| The Moose (Alces alces) is a large member of the deer family and is about the size of a horse. In the western hemisphere it occurs across most of Canada and Alaska as well as many of the northern United States. The first 2 shots on this page show a bull with antlers just starting to grow. These 2 shots were taken in June, 2010 near North Conway, Carroll Co., New Hampshire. The next 2 shots show a cow Moose as she crossed a road south of Lee, Penobscot Co., Maine, also in June, 2010. | ![]() |
