The Northern Cricket Frog (Acris crepitans) is a common resident of much of the eastern United States. The frog shown here is probably the subspecies known as Eastern Cricket Frog (A. c. crepitans). This small frog was resting on a small lily pad in a pond at Uncertain, Harrison Co., Texas, in July, 2004. It was photographed with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 180mm F/3.5 Macro and flash.
