The Orange Bluet (Enallagma signatum) is fairly widespread across the eastern two thirds of the United States. The top two shots of the pair in tandem and the lone male on a water lettuce pad were taken in Brownsville, Cameron Co., Texas in October, 2004. The bottom shot of the male with the blue background was taken in Uvalde Co., Texas, in April 2005. All photos were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300 mm F/4L IS lens with a 2X extender and 550 EX flash.
