The Pearl Crescent (Phyciodes tharos) occurs across the eastern two-thirds of the United States, south through Mexico. The top image on the left was taken in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in May, 2007, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and an EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
