The Pipevine Swallowtail (Battus philenor) occurs across the southern two-thirds of the United States through Mexico. The top image on the left was taken in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in May, 2003, with a Canon EOS 10D and an EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS lens and 2X extender.

The shot of a Pipevine on the left was in Real Co., Texas, in May, 2003 with the same gear as described above.

 

 


The Pipevine on the left was in a dry stream bed near Presidio, Presidio Co., Texas, in September, 2006. This image was shot with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.

 

 


The two shots of a Pipevine Swallowtail caterpillar were taken in Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona, in April, 2003.
