The Rainbow Bluet (Enallagma antennatum) is a very colorful member of the Enallagma genus and occurs in the northeastern United States west to the great plains. It has been found as far south as the northern Texas Panhandle on at least one occasion. The digital shots of a male and female shown here were taken in Bremer Co., Iowa in July 2004 with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300 mm F/4 L IS lens with a 2X extender and 550 EX flash.
