The Red-banded Hairstreak (Calycopis cecrops) is a butterfly of the southeastern United States, occuring west into east and central Texas. The one in the top image on the left was photographed in the Davy Crockett National Forest, Houston Co., Texas, in March, 2008, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 l IS lens.
