The Red-eared Slider (Trachemys scripta) is a resident across much of the eastern and central United States. It is a commonly seen around many ponds and cattle tanks in south Texas, which is where these images were taken. The top two close up shots were taken in April, 2000, in Kenedy Co., Texas with a Canon EOS 3 and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 540 flash. The bottom shot was at the same location, but in April, 2002 with the same gear.
