The Ring-billed Gull (Larus delawarensis) is a common and widespread North American gull. The species breeds in a variety of habitats across the northern United States and much of Canada and winters in the central and southern United States as well as Mexico and Central America. The first-winter bird on the left was at Port Aransas, Nueces Co., Texas in December, 1986. This shot was taken with an Asahi Pentax Spotmatic and a Vivitar 400mm lens.

The adult Ring-billed Gull on the left was on East Beach, Galveston, Galveston Co., Texas, in February, 1998. This shot was taken with a Canon T-90 and Sigma 500mm F/4.5 lens on Fuji Sensia film.
