The River Bluet (Enallagma anna) is another one of those "look alike" bluets which is widely distributed across much of the northern United States in the midwest and westward. The top shot here was taken in Houston Co., Minnesota in July, 2004, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 180 mm F/3.5 macro lens with a 2X extender and 550 EX flash.

The male (left) and female (just below left) River Bluets were near Lyman, Uinta Co., Wyoming, in July, 2008. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
