The Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow (Ammodramus nelsoni) winters along the Texas Gulf coast where this individual was photographed at Bolivar Flats, Galveston Co., Texas, in December, 1991, with a hand-held Canon T-90 and a FD 400 mm F 4.5 lens with a 1.4X extender on a BushHawk shoulder mount and with Kodachrome 64 film. A Fresnel flash was also used.
