The Short-billed Dowitcher (Limnodromus griseus) breeds across parts of the northern latitudes of Canada as well as parts of Alaska. It winters on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the United States as well as all the Gulf of Mexico region. Some percentage of the population winters south past the equator. The shot on the left shows a Short-billed Dowitcher in the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador in July, 2007. This shot was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 100-400mm F/4.5-5.6 L IS lens.
