The Smoky Rubyspot (Hetaerina titia) is a large broad-winged damselfly which occurs across the eastern U.S. Nick Donnelly and others have expressed an interest in the variation of wing coloration of this species as it might be related to age, seasonality and other factors. Photo 1: The individual at left was photographed in June 2003 in Travis Co., Texas. This is apparently a typical wing pattern for many individuals in summer.
