The Southern Sprite (Nehalennia integricollis) is a widespread tiny damselfly of the eastern United States. It is a common species on many ponds and marshes. The shot of a pair in tandem shown here was taken in Taylor Co., Georgia, in July, 2005. These digital images were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens with a 2X extender and 580 EX flash.
